Privacy Policy — Ohayo Network

Last updated: 2 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how the macOS app Ohayo Network (“the App”, “we”) handles information. The App is developed and operated by Vladislav Bondarovich, an individual developer who is the data controller, contact: feedback@ohayo.by.

Ohayo Network is a menu-bar network monitor. It has no account, no sign-in and no backend of ours: we operate no server that receives your data, and we run no analytics, no tracking and no advertising. The App reads your network activity locally on your Mac and is built to keep that data on your device. We do not sell or share your personal data.

1. What the App does with your data

Everything below happens on your Mac. Some features must contact a third-party server to work; where they do, that server necessarily sees your public IP address as an unavoidable part of making the request. Those services are listed in Section 4.

2. Per-app traffic monitoring (opt-in system extension)

If — and only if — you choose to install it, Ohayo Network adds a macOS content-filter system extension to break down throughput per application. This feature is strictly opt-in: nothing is installed until you ask for it, installing the extension and turning monitoring on are separate steps, and you can turn monitoring off or remove the extension at any time in Settings.

The extension is read-only and never blocks, redirects or modifies your connections, and it never reads the contents of your traffic. For each network flow it processes only metadata — the originating app’s identity, remote endpoint, protocol and cumulative byte counts — in memory only. It writes nothing to disk. The resulting per-app totals are handed to the App over a local, authenticated channel on your Mac; they never leave your device and are discarded when monitoring stops or the extension is removed.

3. What we collect

Nothing. We operate no server and receive no data from the App. Your IP address reaches only the third-party endpoints described in Section 1 — your chosen geolocation providers, your latency hosts, Cloudflare during a speed test, and Apple while the map is shown — at the moment those requests run, as an unavoidable part of making them. None of it is collected, stored or seen by us.

Purchases. Ohayo Network is a one-time paid app: there are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising. When you buy it from the Mac App Store, Apple handles the entire transaction — your payment details, name and email address never reach us. Apple gives us only anonymous, aggregated sales and download reports, which identify no one.

4. Third-party services

The App contacts the following services only when the relevant feature is used. Each is an independent controller of any data it receives, under its own privacy policy:

Because these hosts are user-configurable, the exact third parties your copy of the App contacts depend on the providers and hosts you keep in Settings. As these services operate globally, a request you trigger may be processed on servers outside your country or the EEA, each under that provider’s own policy.

5. Data storage

Your preferences (enabled features, provider and host lists, custom labels), usage totals, recent speed measurements and your IP history (capped at 25 entries) are stored locally in the App’s sandbox container using macOS UserDefaults. You can clear the IP history from the dashboard at any time. Deleting the App removes the App itself, and macOS offers to remove the system extension along with it; the preference container remains on disk until you also delete ~/Library/Containers/com.ohayo.network.

6. Legal bases and your rights (EEA / UK and similar regions)

Where the EU/UK GDPR or a comparable law applies, the limited processing that happens on your device — running, securing and improving the utility you chose to use — rests on our legitimate interests, and any request sent to a third-party service is processed to perform the feature you requested. Because we hold no account and keep no copy of your data, the rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and objection are, in practice, exercised directly on your device: reset or delete your local data in-app or by removing the App. For data any third-party service holds, please refer to that provider’s policy (Section 4). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection supervisory authority. For anything else, contact us at feedback@ohayo.by.

7. United States state privacy

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we run no advertising or cross-context behavioural tracking. Depending on your state you may have rights to access or delete personal information; because we hold none, there is nothing on our side to disclose or delete — data lives on your device and, for the services in Section 4, with those providers.

8. Children

The App is a general-purpose utility, is not directed to children, and knowingly collects no personal data from anyone, children included.

9. Data retention & security

Data stored locally remains on your Mac until you reset it in-app or delete the App. We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. Any data processed by the third-party services above is retained under their respective policies. All network requests the App makes are transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.

10. Changes

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
